Nightfallen Garden
March 07, 2011
Our attempts to stop Nightfall from happening have failed, but we still have a chance to track down Varesh and stop her from bringing more of Abaddon’s influence into our world.
After my exploration at the Holdings of Chokhin, I was summoned to the princes to talk about Varesh’s next move. The meeting was interrupted by a messenger who said Varesh was attacking the Sebelkeh Basilica. We made haste to the Grand Court of Sebelkeh. Upon our arrival, we found an unlikely ally in Varesh’s own General Morgahn who felt betrayed by Varesh.
At the basilica, we had to close three demonic portals, kill groups of margonites, and defeat their leader, the Blasphemy, to prevent the Altar of Lyssa from being corrupted. Varesh had already completed her ritual, but we have cleansed the basilica. Unfortunately nightfall is already under way. Morgahn told us that she was headed to the Mouth of Torment in the Desolation, to usher Abaddon into our world. The general joined our party to help us hunt her down.
Night has fallen over Elona, and an army of Margonites marched to the gates of the Kodash Bazaar. With the help of the djinn of Ahdashim, we killed them and prevented their invasion. Despite our victory, parts of Elona still fell to Abaddon’s corruption. I had made my way to the Garden of Seborhin and found it had succumb to Nightfall already. Outside its twisted entrance, I found a curious Kurzick necromancer. Anile R. Durheim was drawn to Elona by the events of Nightfall. When I learned that he was a devout follower of Grenth and opposer of Abaddon, I gladly accepted his request to accompany me into the Nightfallen Garden.

Holdings of Chokhin
March 05, 2011
It is finally time to meet the last prince of Vabbi, Mehtu the Wise. His palace, the Halls of Chokhin contains the largest library in all of Elona, which also houses many scholars. When my elementalist friend Elwin heard that I would be exploring this area, he was quick to offer assistance. I had a much harder time persuading Tahlkora to accompany us. She didn’t want to tell her father, Prince Mehtu about her adventures with us in fear that he would be angry at either us for endangering her life.
Outside the farming village of Mihanu Township, the road to Mehtu’s palace is populated with vicious plants. However if you’re careful where you walk, it is easy to get to the palace without enraging them. At the risk of bringing back unwanted plant life or monsters to the library, Elwin and I decided to explore this area fully before trying to check out a few books.

Vehjin Mines

When my friends heard that I would be exploring an area with a diamond mine, they went out of their way to accompany me. It was easy to spot my friends faces in Jennur’s Horde, because they were the only ones in this mining outpost that didn’t look like they had put in a day’s work already. My two elementalist friends Rajas and Elwin showed up, and Alarion the ranger returned to join me. A warrior named Kaden, who reeked of booze, approached and said he also wanted to join our party in the exploration of Vehjin Mines. I was a little startled, but I’m never one to turn down help from a capable (if intoxicated) adventurer, so I welcomed him into our group.
The Vehjin Mines is bustling with production. The sound of banging pickaxes are everywhere. Immediately we were approached by Belgun the Quarry Master. After he learned that we were just adventurers and not looking for work, he requested that we secure the area of monsters. Rajas tried to negotiate some diamonds out of the request, but Belgun shrewdly argued away from that. The miners must be used to greedy travellers.

Wilderness of Bahdza

While Margrid, Goren, and I were trying to find Prince Bokka and Prince Mehtu in the Hidden City, my other friends were working on a different task. They chose to follow Master of Whispers and help him fight back Varesh’s army just outside Citadel of Dzagon’s gates. During their travels with him, they learned a lot about his order. Like the fact that the Order of Whispers was Turai Ossa’s elite spy network, that they were responsible for sealing away Palawa Joko, and that Master of Whisper’s real name is Jurah.
My friends helped Master of Whispers defend the Chantry of Secrets and the Citadel of Dzagon from Varesh’s army. Just as my group was aided by Prince Bokka’s bodyguard Goren, Master of Whisper’s group had one of Prince Bokka’s actors: Norgu. This might seem really strange, but he’s a talented Mesmer and wanted a chance to help out (or take the spotlight). I thought that one of Prince Ahmtur’s generals would have helped out instead of Norgu. It was surprising to find out that Lieutenant Murunda had a deep appreciation for Norgu’s “talents” and saw no reason to aid in the battle.
It will take time for the princes to convene so they can discuss their role in all of this, so I have some free time to explore a bit more of Vabbi. Elwin and our new paragon friend Bambi have joined me in today’s exploration of the Wilderness of Bahdza.

The Hidden City of Ahdashim
February 21, 2011
The failed Kournan assassination has sent Prince Mehtu and Prince Bokka into hiding. Only Prince Ahmtur is ready to put up a fight and keep Vabbi safe. At this point in time, adventurers are torn between helping Margrid in helping find the two princes or accompanying Master of Whispers in fighting off the Kournan invasion at Dzagonur Bastion. Back in Kourna, I went with Margrid to free Kormir (and Margrid’s sister Shahai), so it was only natural that I stuck with her to find the princes.
Accompanied by Prince Bokka’s bodyguard, Goren, we headed to the library in the Halls of Chokhin to search old tomes for clues to the prince’s hidden sanctuary. After Margrid had gained Goren’s trust, he offered to show us where to find the princes. That would have been very helpful before we went all the way to the library! So Margrid and I left from Honur Hill and met Goren in the Mirror of Lyss. He danced in front of an unremarkable wall that soon broke apart to reveal a door, which parted for us.
Inside we found ourselves in an outpost named Dasha Vestibule. The djinn refused to let us see the princes unless we passed the Trials of Eternity, Divinity, and Wisdom. Goren didn’t make our mission easy. He kept either charging ahead or lagging behind and getting stuck on the fire traps. When we passed the trials and defeated the three djinn leaders, the princes were not very happy to see us. I argued that if it were this easy for us to reach them, Varesh would do the same and end their lives. Just as we were about to leave, large black tendrils burst through the floor. These were a sign that Nightfall is already happening!

Resplendent Makuun

I visited Prince Bokka the Magnificent only a few hours ago by invitation to see a play about Prince Rurik’s life. I didn’t find out until it was about to start that Kournans were playing all of the parts. Needless to say, it was a trap meant to kill the prince and myself. I equipped my bow the moment they turned aggressive and planted an arrow in Vaughn the Venerable’s chest before he could harm any of the nobles. My group of friends and henchmen took care of the rest. I am disappointed in Varesh’s ability to gain the prince’s trust in at least getting rid of the sunspears. Now she has to deal with two nations!
This has already been a busy day, but I managed to get two of my friends to help me explore the area better. I’m sure that Rajas and Elwin are more interested in meeting the prince when we’re done. Not that making our enemies explode with elementalist magic is a bore. As we walked outside of the Honur Hill gates, we noticed Prince Bokka’s palace. I’ve made a lot of money during my travels, but I can’t imagine having enough to build my own palace.

The Mirror Of Lyss
February 13, 2011
As the days progress, I’m finding it easier to gain the trust of more and more Vabbian nobles. Tomorrow I am supposed to check up on Prince Bokka the Magnificent and persuade him to help the sunspears, or at the very least oppose Varesh’s Kournan army. My friends Rajas, Alarion, and Aesir V., took a moment out of their luxurious afternoon in the Kodash Bazaar to explore the Mirror of Lyss with me. Right outside the city gates are a few tents where collectors or nobles can gather and enjoy the (safe) outdoors. I think even an aggressive Jahai Rat would send them running back inside the city.

Garden of Seborhin
February 08, 2011
After the Festival of Lyss, I couldn’t wait to get back into the Garden of Seborhin. I had such a fun time meeting the princes and partying with nobles. It was fantastic up until the point the skree harpies crashed the party! Normally entry back into the garden is blocked, but our friend (and Prince Mehtu’s daughter) Tahlkora can go in whenever she likes. So as long as she is with us, the guards won’t kick us out. My old friends Rajas and Elwin were delighted to hear about this and were eager to see the sights along side me.

Forum Highlands

Priestess Haila has accepted my invitation to attend the Festival of Lyss and speak with the princes. To be honest, I’m nervous about speaking with them. Usually when I am solving the problems of allied groups or nations, it doesn’t hinge on my ability to impress royalty with witty conversation. To calm my nerves, I decided to explore the Forum Highlands with my friends Alarion and Rajas. As we left from Tihark Orchard, we found several groups of Vabbian guards patrolling the outpost.

Vehtendi Valley

Since my arrival at the Kodash Bazaar, I’ve come to appreciate life back on Istan much more. The quality of goods is better here, but it doesn’t justify the steep jump in prices. Sure being an adventurer has filled my coffers, but it seems like a waste to me. Also, I get a lot of stares from nobles, because I “carry the smell of battle”. The Vabbians seem to admire wealth, high fashion, and fine wine. They squirm at the idea of getting their hands dirty. I’ve had some success gaining influence with a few nobles by recounting my adventures. They particularly enjoyed hearing about the Kurzick’s dark cathedrals and of their Treesingers. My stories also caught the attention of my guild leader, Theresa, who got pretty excited about my exploits and accompanied me for the exploration of Vehtendi Valley. The most visually striking part about this area is right outside the gates of the bazaar. Large Vabbian towers, floating in mid air, with golden domes spin slowly against the background of the starry sky at night.

Yatendi Canyons
January 26, 2011
Reaching Vabbi has turned into quite the adventure. When the plan was first proposed, I thought it would be easy to gain entry. I couldn’t have guessed that the only way in was through a cavern filled with Corsairs, Kournan guards and a demonic beast. In Vabbi, I found myself at the Wehhan Terraces outpost. A Vabbian guard welcomed me and mentioned that a priestess of Lyssa was looking for me, and that she headed outside into the Yatendi Canyons. When I met up with her, she explained that I needed to goto the Chantry of Secrets and consult with the Order of Whispers, where I learned that they too want to rid the world of demons, and by extension, Varesh. Throughout this time, Master of Whispers was in our party but refused to comment on the situation. At the moment, Alarion M. is helping me re-examine Yatendi Canyons to learn more about Vabbi.
