Tears of the Fallen

As we departed from Stingray Strand and entered Tears of the Fallen, the sky darkened and we felt something odd in the air.

Stingray Strand

Nox decided to join me once again, this time helping me explore Stingray Strand and onward into the Tears of the Fallen.

This is by far one of the best areas of Kryta to explore. Running toward some seagulls, the thought of battling monsters escaped my mind. I was too busy breathing in the fresh air, listening to the cries of the seagulls and the sound of my feet hitting the sand.

Twin Serpent Lakes

Upon entering the Twin Serpent Lakes area with my good friend Nox, we were confronted by mergoyles, skales and tengu. These encounters usually put me in a bad mood, but with such a scenic location I feeling at ease.

Majesty's Rest

Here is something of interest: more straw huts! These have the same design as the ones found in The Black Curtain and North Kryta Province. Unlike those areas however, no skale were found nearby these huts, only Reed Stalkers were in the vicinity.
Due to the size of these huts, I’ve always suspected that animals or small monsters inhabit them, but I’ve yet to see anything go in or out of the huts.

Talmark Wilderness

Along with a few of my guild mates, we set out to explore the Talmark Wilderness. A beautiful and serene area that also connects with Majesty’s Rest, (a gateway to the Maguuma Jungle) where the mighty bone dragon, Rotscale lives. Where we will be moving onto immediately after this area.

Kessex Peak

Erolin and I talked to Lionguard Gariol for a while. At one point he said, “What? Is there a sign above my head that says "Talk to me?"” After a moment of awkward silence, we had a good laugh about it and carried on.

The Black Curtain

Upon entering The Black Curtain from the Temple of Ages, you are confronted by Reed Stalkers. The only unusual thing about this encounter was the location; a man-made(?) platform. It resembles a stage or circle for gatherings (and not the sort that plants attend!).

Cursed Lands

Much like Nebo Terrace, the Cursed Lands is filled with undead creatures. Normally I do not mind what an area is filled with, but undead emit an unholy aura that sickens the living.
As you have probably already noticed, prolonged exposure to undead causes humans to go into a zombie-like trance. If you don’t believe me, try going to Bergen Hotsprings and observe the sometimes hundreds of monks running in and out of that port, with only killing on their mind!
Some people call them “farmers”, because they “farm” enemies for money. However I do not agree with this light-hearted term! Their very souls have been corrupted and they only live to kill! *sigh* What a cruel fate.

Watchtower Coast

It's a beautiful day in Kryta, unfortunately no one was able to tag along on this expedition of Watchtower Coast.
The beaches here are some of the most beautiful I've seen since Shing Jea Island. But due to high monster activity, not a lot of people come this way. I'm not even entirely sure if people live in the tower-complexes here.
Along the beach I counted four complexes, and several more further inward. If only the rich and famous of Kaineng City knew of this place! I'm sure they would pay a lot of money to live here. Although just about anything has to be better than living in the current crowded living arrangements back in Cantha. (This is pretty much why I'd rather be exploring than settling-in back home!)

Nebo Terrace

My good friend Adi The Bloody, decided to help me with today's exploration of Nebo Terrace! We left from Bergen Hot Springs (which oddly enough a lot of monks seemed to leave from as well.) In the following pictures, you'll also notice that we have a Gaki. He was imprisoned in a 'summoning stone', a fantastic magical innovation! I highly recommend stocking up on a few summoning stones before venturing out into an area.
Anyways, Nebo Terrace gets it name from the village of Nebo (located to the north) and the many terraces in the area. It would be quite a lovely area, if it were not for all the undead, tengu, ettins, mergoyles, imps and skales!

North Kryta Province

I've finally made my way to North Kryta Province, a large explorable area just outside Lion's Arch (and D'Alessio Seaboard). For anyone interested in sight-seeing, I would recommend setting aside a fair amount of time to 'take in' the beauty of this area.
From my own experience and research I've done, the monsters are not hard to defeat, but there is a lot of ground to cover.
Anyways, our journey beings a few steps outside Lion's Arch. In the background you can see a huge structure just beyond the waterfall. It is an enormous housing complex, perhaps where Krytan elite live and where royalty used to. If you go into Lion's Arch, there is another similar structure to the south that you can get a good look at as well.

Scoundrel's Rise

I am so excited to explore Kryta because it reminds me of Shing Jea Island! It's also nice to get out of the cold Shiverpeaks and relax on a warm sunny beach.
Unfortunately I do not know very much about Kryta's history, outside what has happened since the White Mantle took power after the Searing. For example, I know the names of nine Emperors from Cantha, yet I do not know the name of even one Krytan king!
I tried asking Salma, the last Krytan princess, but even she wouldn't tell me. What is with all the secrecy? Not to speculate too much, but are the White Mantle actively trying to erase the history of the old kings?
Anyways, lets continue on with Scoundrel's Rise. I will talk more about the White Mantle & Kryta in the next area.
