Consulate

It is time for me to move on and leave Istan. Unfortunately when I arrive in Kourna, I doubt anyone will greet me with open arms. After the recent events here, Kormir is set on starting a war with Kourna. The Elonian adventurers who did all the hard work before I arrived, found out that the corsairs were paid by the Kournans to start trouble here. Even more important is the revelation that Varesh Ossa is behind the evil forces found in Jokanur Diggings. Then our ally Tahlkora found out that Varesh and her general were conspiring to bring about “Nightfall”.
All I can do is lend my support to Kormir and the sunspears. So I made my way to the Istani Consulate before heading off to Gandara in Kourna to bring Varesh down.

Mehtani Keys

Kodlonu Hamlet is a lovely outpost, filled with merchants and spots to relax. Most of the time when I reach an outpost after spending a long time fighting my way to it, there is no where to lounge. Not only does this place have a fireplace to gather around, but shaded seating. That is exactly where Cver found me waiting, and possibly wondering to himself if I was ever going to get up.

I brought him over to a corner of the hamlet and pointed out the strange Canthan. It was Jatoro Musagi! I spent a good amount of time on Shing Jea “helping” his mother straighten him out. Originally he became a member of the Crimson Skull pirate gang, then wandered the Jade Sea looking for money. He eventually wound up here through some business contract delivering a jadeite block to Vabbi. His ship was attacked by corsairs, but he found shelter in the hamlet. I offered to help Jatoro but he informed me that some young Elonian adventurers already did so.

I know that Cver is a gentleman, so without wasting any more of his time, we set out on our exploration of Mehtani Keys. Just as I stepped out and walked towards a boat parked on the shore, a group of mandragor erupted from the ground and attacked us.

Issnur Isles

I met up with Rajas, an Elonian adventurer, in the fishing outpost Beknur Harbor. The buzzing sound of cicadas is very prevalent here. My new friend Rajas was accustomed to it, but I thought the noises that the bugs made were annoying. Eager to start exploring with a native of Istan, I left the harbor with my friend for the Issnur Isles.

Lahtenda Bog

On my way to the Blacktide Den outpost, I bumped into an Elonian adventurer who was just leaving the area. We chatted briefly and I learned (among other things), that I should watch out for sneak attacks by corsairs. They operate a black market here, and do not hesitate to eliminate any threat to their business. I thanked the adventurer and met up with Cver in the outpost. We brought along the essentials needed to explore Lahtenda Bog, recruited some henchmen to accompany us, and departed from the outpost and into the dark wilderness.

Zehlon Reach

At the Astralarium, I chatted with my friends Cver and Loreal. My travels across Istan so far caught their attention, and they were eager to join me in Zehlon Reach. I wanted to stay at the outpost longer, but a scholar shooed us away. According to him we were being too loud and he couldn’t concentrate on his studies. I apologized and exited into the wilderness with my friends.

Fahranur, The First City

A little over 600 years ago, Fahranur, the First City was abandoned due to the Scarab Plague. It spread from this area to the rest of Istan very quickly, and people had little to no time to flee the island. Even the Primeval Kings fell to this mysterious affliction. After much time had passed, people came back to Istan and built a new capital, Kamadan, the Jewel of Istan, to replace Fahranur. As you can imagine, people avoid visiting the old city. So I was pleased that Cver joined my party to explore this area.

Cliffs of Dohjok

On a particularly hot day I waited patiently in Champion’s Dawn for my friends. No one showed up so I can only imagine that they were preoccupied with keeping themselves cool. I have experienced the different extremes of temperature in Tyria, the Southern Shiverpeaks and the Crystal Desert. Putting up with one scorching day does not feel so bad when you have plenty of water (and henchmen willing to carry it!) Even though I am not receiving any help from adventurers, Dunkoro is still at my side to help me explore Istan.

Churrhir Fields

Churrhir Fields is hardly a challenge to explore, but it still interests me nonetheless. On Istan, new sunspear recruits are trained here. The equipment is similar to what is available on the Isle of the Nameless (Battle Isles). I was surprised to find so many profession trainers here. Learning the ways of the ranger had me traveling all over the Shing Jea Island. Here you only need to visit one area.

Plains of Jarin

Today I find myself in Elona, Land of the Golden Sun, to help the sunspears drive evil out of their land. Spearmarshal Kormir has sent word to Tyria and Cantha that adventurers are needed once again. I can’t turn down an offer to fight for a good cause and it lets me finally get a chance to explore Elona. On my arrival to the capital of Istan: Kamadan, I was shocked at how many people crowded this city. At first I thought that these adventurers had come to fight in the war, but they mostly seem concerned about trading goods. It seems like a great place because everyones interest is directed here, but trying to sell or buy stuff can be difficult because the noise of others drowns out your requests. Moving onto business, I invited Catfish and Cver to help me explore the Plains of Jarin. Although before leaving I asked my new friend Dunkoro to come along. He is a sunspear “hero” monk, and I’ve found him to be more knowledgable with healing magic than Alesia. He has agreed to serve as our guide through Istan because we could not find any Elonian adventurers to escort us.
