Depths of Tyria
Bogroot Growths
January 24, 2012
At the northern end of Sparkfly Swamp, Malory and I met two asurans arguing; Tekk and Giriff. Their troubles started when an experiment failed and caused the red Gokir heket tribe (which was helping Giriff) to be displaced into the territory of Tekk’s yellow heket Ophil assistants. The two heket tribes began fighting over the territory and each asura wanted us to kill the opposing heket tribe so that their research could resume. I chose to take Tekk’s request, since I felt bad for the Ophil’s situation.
Entering into these Bogroot Growths, the causalties of this territory war were apparent. Malory and I followed the trail of heket bodies to find our way to the front of the battle.

Bloodstone Caves
December 29, 2011
Shortly after accompanying Gadd and Livia to extract power from a bloodstone, I had another task in this area. Our friend Saerin, a member of the Shining Blade in Gadd’s Encampment asked me to retrieve a few more items tied to the nearby bloodstone. Each item was bound to powerful ettins located on each section of Bloodstone Caves. One is a shimmering essence to enchant the Shining Blade’s weapons, one is an arcane crystal shard that could turn their arrows into armor-piercing thunderbolts, and one is a spectral crystal from the most powerful ettin that can give them even more power over their White Mantle enemies. Malory K. joined me once again as we set off to explore more of the Depths of Tyria. The path to the Bloodstone Caves is full of monsters, but you can avoid most of them if you’re careful. When we reached what appeared to be a blocked doorway, the engraved runes lit up and the door opened to reveal our path.

Shards of Orr
December 08, 2011
During my exploration of Arbor Bay, I noticed a restless spirit near an entrance to the Depths of Tyria. When I returned to that spot with my friend Malory, we learned of crewmember Shandra’s curse. She was a member of Lady Glaive’s crew on the Queen of Fools ship. When they sailed into Orrian waters, a mutiny took place. Our task was to free the crew members souls by killing their betrayer.

Vloxen Excavations
November 16, 2011
Our old friend Molein, a dredge I first encountered in Sorrow’s Furnace asked us for more help in Umbral Grotto. The enslaved dredge are being put to work by the Stone Summit for something sinister. The Stone Summit saw an opportunity to reach a lich and harness its power after the recent earthquakes opened the way to its crypt. Malory and I headed into the Vloxen Excavations to put an end to the Stone Summit’s plans and free the dredge.

Rragar's Menagerie
November 01, 2011
Threats to Pyre’s warband seem to be a daily occurrence, but today Gron Fiercelaw brought something important to my attention. Their enemy Rragar Maneater has been developing a new type of monster called fleshreavers to unleash on our charr and human allies. So Malory and I set out to the southwest corner of Sacnoth Valley, and entered into Rragar’s Menagerie.

Catacombs of Kathandrax
October 25, 2011
Malory and I had to travel through the burning forest of Sacnoth Valley to reach our next task in the Depths of Tyria. Under Captain Langmar’s orders, Swithin Nye and his company were ordered to retrieve a great dwarven weapon: Kathandrax’s Crusher. He wasn’t too specific about why they needed it, but I was assured that it would be a great service to the Ebon Vanguard. His group failed when they were attacked by charr, so it was up to us to get the job done.

Cathedral of Flames
September 27, 2011
It seems that Pyre’s warband in Doomlore Shrine not only has problems with the shaman caste, but also from another threat underneath their outpost. The caverns just below where Gron Fierceclaw trades with allies, are home to an army of restless spirits lead by the ghost Murakai, Lady of the Night. Gron tasked Malory and I with getting rid of their problem. Of course they wouldn’t have this problem if they hadn’t brought back Ascalonian relics to this underground Cathedral of Flames. But I have a choice to help our new charr allies or watch as they are assaulted by ghosts and other charr.

Raven's Point
July 15, 2011
Word traveled that there was trouble at the raven shrine in the depths of Tyria. I spoke with Olrun Olafdottir who confirmed the rumors. She told us that Captain Sargen and his dwarven unit who entered the shrine soon encountered destroyers. Xapp, their hired asuran engineer, had fled to seek aid. That was more than enough information to catch my attention, so Malory and I picked up Xapp, who was cowering by the entrance, and entered Raven’s Point.

Darkrime Delves

At Volsung’s Stead, Malory and I talked with Kolgrim Bainright and Einarr Frostcleft about their jotun problem. Well, more like I interrupted their arguing over who was more worthy to slay the great jotun. I don’t think they trusted our group to get far, but at least we’d clear a path for them.

Frostmaw's Burrows
July 01, 2011
At the northern edge of Jaga Moraine, there is a group of norn talking about giant wurms outside the gates of a dungeon. Their leader, Latham told me that Frostmaw killed his brothers and that I was welcome to join in their hunt. So along with the norn adventurers Kitta, Gareth, Hroth, and my mesmer friend Malory K. we entered the Depths of Tyria to seek revenge.

Sepulchre of Dragrimmar
June 29, 2011
I spotted a passage that leads into the Depths of Tyria earlier during my exploration of Drakkar Lake, but didn’t investigate it until now. Two dwarves: Outrunner Remlok and Sage Bollnar stand by the passage waiting for brave souls to help them. Inside this Sepulchre of Dragrimmar lies the legendary Anvil of Dragrimmar, said to have been used by Droknar himself to craft wondrous weapons. Of course this anvil was heavily guarded, so I brought along a powerful mesmer to keep the awaiting ice elementals frustrated while I fill their bodies with arrows. Malory K. presented himself as an invaluable asset, I hope this is the start of a beautiful friendship!

Battledepths
June 29, 2011
I’ve yet to finish helping the norn and gaining their trust, but Ogden insisted I visit the Battledepths. King Jalis Ironhammer and the other dwarves are waiting for us there until we can amass an army against the destroyers. With such short notice, I was only able to persuade Kudos S. W. to come along with me. Everyone else must have been too busy buying “consumables” or working hard to buy a new set of vanguard or norn armor.
Heading west from the Eye of the North, we entered the Battledepths. At first it’s quite dark, and then not too much farther along sunlight beams in. Aside from the underground passage way outside Kaineng City, I have yet to explore the many Depths of Tyria opened up to us.
