Unwaking Waters

200 years ago, the waters here flowed uninterrupted and the Harvest Temple floated on the water. On the day of Harvest Ceremony, Emperor Angsiyan was killed by his body guard: Shiro Tagachi. No one knows what compelled Shiro to kill his master, some suspect that he is insane or perhaps possessed by a demonic force.

In present time, I came to this area to seek out a dragon named Kunnavang trapped in the depths of the temple. It turns out that it has been corrupted ever since the Jade Wind. Luckily when we defeated it, we were able to reverse the affliction and gained insight on how to proceed and kill Shiro. Today I am here to revisit the Unwaking Waters and see if I can uncover anything helpful before I move on. Solorian, Cver and Zetta are accompanying me as well.

Rhea's Crater

I enjoyed waiting in Seafarer’s Rest for any strangers that wanted to help me in my quest to explore Rhea’s Crater. This is because the outpost used to be a fancy resort for the Luxon elite. Only Zetta showed up to help me, so we continued to wait a while and help ourselves to Luxon cuisine. We started with a hot bowl of scuttlefish soup, followed by irukandji and seaweed salad, yeti liver paté, saltspray dragon steak, and some poached pears for dessert. No one else showed up, so Zetta and I set out to Rhea’s Crater.

Silent Surf

At first I was a bit nervous to explore the area known as SIlent Surf. Besides dealing with angry fish and outcasts, there are a lot of saltspray dragons here. I heard that before the Jade Wind hit they were nice, but now they attack anyone that approaches them. Thankfully Solorian D., U. Loreal and Zetta were brave enough to help me today.

Gyala Hatchery

When I first heard about Gyala Hatchery, I was surprised to hear about the young sealife the Luxons were saving. In the hatchery they have a wide range of eggs and hatchlings, including sea life that can no longer live in the Jade Sea, and baby turtles. They are such a war like culture that I didn’t expect them to have a soft spot for raising young animals. To fully explore the hatchery area, I was accompanied by Solorian, Kali T.C., and Jordan O.F. We began our adventure from Leviathan Pits, a small jade mining area.

We first saw this enormous Leviathan ship that stretches from the Leviathan Pits to the explorable area. Apparently the structure was crafted out of a mammoth turtle shell.

Maishang Hills

Like Mount Qinkai, Maishang Hills is another Luxon territory that attracts Canthan visitors. The outpost where I asked my friends to wait for me: Bai Paasu Reach, is a popular tourist destination for city folk that want to visit this mountainous region. Further away at Eradon Terrace, there is a jade-smashing device made by Canthans to help with making jade more transportable. While I was thinking about all of this, my friends Xia, Vengance, and Cver showed up and we set out to begin our exploration.

Mount Qinkai

In my opinion, Mount Qinkai is the most beautiful Luxon area. The majority of this area was not harmed by the Jade Wind. Mount Qinkai is also so massive that you can see part of it from Pongmei Valley. Catfish, Xia and Claire will be helping me explore this wonderful area today.

Archipelagos

In Cavalon while I waited for my friends to arrive, I chatted up some of the Luxons to learn more about their culture. Elder Rhea told me that the gods only value strength, and that is why the Kurzicks are doomed to fall in battle at the hands of the Luxons. As much as I wanted to have a debate about what only one god may want (Balthazar), I kept these thoughts to myself. Next I talked to Rasmus, who explained why their turtles are so huge. They use the magic found in jade and amber to enhance their size. The Kurzicks have the amber the Luxons need and the Luxons have the jade the Kurzicks need. This is just one of many reasons why both sides are constantly at war. Before I could talk to anyone else, my friends Xia, Catfish and R. Wulf arrived so we set out to explore Archipelagos together.

Boreas Seabed

One of the things I love about the Jade Sea is that you can see everything for miles. Back when I was in the Echovald Forest, I sometimes had problems seeing 20 feet ahead of me. Here everything is well lit by the open sky and the bright green jade provides little cover for enemies. Catfish, Xia and Cver are joining me today on my first Luxon area. As we entered Boreas Seabed from Zos Shivros Channel, I noticed a huge ship. Catfish told me that this was a leviathan ship named the Halycon, and that the Luxons use it as a protection against Kurzicks. It can move across the Jade Sea by using the wind.

Temple of the Intolerable

When Princess Salma asked me to go into the Temple of Tolerance and take out a Mursaat leader, very few people were willing to rush in. This is a heavily fortified portion of D’Alessio Seaboard. I intended on carrying out her orders, but only after spending a few nights planning out the rough details. Unfortunately since I took my time with this one, none of my friends could be reached to help out.

Mourning Veil Falls

Today I am joined by six adventurers: Solorian, Catfish, Xia, Vengance, Cver and Claire on my exploration of the last Kurzick area. We met at the Durheim Archives, home to the most renowned scholars and historians the Echovald Forest has to offer. Not that I am able to ask any questions of them, because I am not a true Kurzick. Perhaps if I became their champion or saviour they would reveal some ancient lore to me.

Morostav Trail

It was late in the day when I met up with my friends Solorian and Claire to explore Morostav Trail. As we entered this area, we spotted all the familiar things in the Echovald Forest: stone trees, mushrooms, and moss growing everywhere. Unfortunately this is where the typical adventurer would lose interest in exploring and continue on their way to the next outpost. Unless you are a cartographer, most people miss finding interesting things when they travel because they just don’t take the time to look around.

The Eternal Grove

Vasburg Armory is a beautiful and well designed outpost. It even has a huge golden statue of the god Balthazar. However it has one flaw, the only Xunlai vault boxes are located on the other side. So when I had to travel out of my way to get a few things from storage, it really surprised me to go back to the center of the outpost and see Catfish, Xia, Vengance, Solorian, Cver, and Claire eagerly waiting to help me. I’m not sure what motivated all of them to accompany me. Perhaps the haunting melody of the tree singers beacons travels to return and visit the Eternal Grove again.

Drazach Thicket

Catfish, Cver, Solorian and Xia met with me in Saint Anjeka’s Shrine. This outpost was named after a woman name Anjeka who was slain by a Luxon while promoting peace between the two factions. Her death is one of many reasons why the two sides find it impossible to get along. I could tell that my friends were eager to enter battle, so I wrapped up my history lesson and walked through the shrine’s gate to Drazach Thicket.

Melandru's Hope

The very name of this area had me excited. Melandru’s Hope sounds like just the sort of place a ranger would want to explore. So for my adventure today, I waited eagerly in Lutgardis Conservatory for my friends to show up. While I waited there, I spoke with Duke Holtz Lutgardis to find out more about House Lutgardis. Before I could move on from “hello” to “tell me about your people”, he cut me off mid-sentence in a most unusual way. He told me about his family in song! I had no idea anyone could take singing so seriously as to prefer it over speaking normally. But with a voice like that, I can understand why. His house is responsible for the forever trees; trees that can change a Kurzick into a juggernaught. For centuries, the Lutgardis house have devoted themselves to song and the creation of wondrous musical instruments.

When he finished, I nodded my head nervously and waved goodbye as I walked away and joined my friends Catfish, Xia, Bjorne, Solorian, and Cver .

Ferndale

Leaving from the Kurzick capital, House zu Heltzer with my friends Catfish J., Solorian D., Xia H.D., Meldon M., and Cver D, we stepped out into Ferndale. Immediately we were attacked by a group of mantids. After we finished them off, we encountered another group of them. Unfortunately we were under the umbrella of a mushroom and were caught in it’s spores, which made fighting the mantids even more difficult. As you can see, enormous mushrooms are all over ferndale.

Arborstone

Not too long ago, Danika led me into Arborstone to retrieve the Urn of Saint Viktor in order to defeat Shiro at Sunjiang District. This area houses a giant cathedral that is no longer used very much due to the monster population. As a non-Kurzick, I can only assume this must be a devastating loss for their culture because they are very religious. Once peaceful wardens now fill the cathedral and attack all humans on sight. Before the Jade Wind hit the Echovald Forest, these wardens were actually passive and acted as guardians of the forest spirit. Since all the trees have been turned to stone, this forest spirit has been wounded and perhaps gone a bit crazy. Today Catfish J., S. Fangastic, Celtic E., Tico C., and Pulviose T.R. will be helping me explore my first Kurzick area.

A Little Help From Above

After dealing with Wiliem the Demeaning in Riverside Province, Salma asked adventurers to go after a Mursaat named Aily the Innocent in Divinity Coast. The last mission I went on was not difficult, but made easier with the aid of friends, so I asked Catfish R., and Kaoru T.L. to accompany me on this new quest. The way into Divinity Coast required us to visit the secret passage in Talmark Wilderness beyond this river.

Pongmei Valley

Even though Pongmei Valley is still considered to be within Kaineng City (although that is a bit of a stretch), you can see into the Luxon and Kurizck lands. From here the Luxon area seems nice, because we get a good view of the Qinkaishi Mountains but in reality most of the Luxon area is water frozen in time as jade. The mark Shiro left on Echovald Forest is much more apparent here.

Solorian, N. Squirrel, and Loreal decided to help me today with my exploration of Pongmei Valley.

Sunjiang District

I can still remember trying to defeat Shiro Tagachi with the power of the Spear of Archemorus and the Urn of Saint Viktor. Along with Togo, Mhenlo, and a few others, we destroyed his Shiro’ken only to learn that our he escaped us. I could clearly see Shiro now that I was closer to the stars, but he was still able to flee after we beat him up a bit. Togo suggested that we should talk with the Kurzicks and Luxons. Perhaps their combined strength can help me put an end to Shiro once and for all.

No one in my party doubted the importance of finding new allies, but uniting the Kurizcks and Luxons? That would take more time than we had. Catfish , Claire, Loreal, Harlequin, and Vengance followed me into Sunjiang District to explore the last major area of the city, and to perhaps gain insight into why Shiro came here.

Ahhh, at last I get to visit Tahnnakai Temple. After freeing the spirits of Canthan heroes that were bound by Shiro’s magic, you can speak with them in this temple. Shenzun Tunnels

The Shenzun Tunnels have a lot in common with the Undercity. Both of them have a lot of raw sewage, Am Fah and Afflicted monsters. So I was very surprised when six people offered to help me explore this area. Surely Xia H. D., Catfish J, Vengance H., Morganna D., Harlequin H. and Eirene E. must be mad. After exploring this area, I think it might be best to throw my armor in the trash and buy a new set. I’m not sure if I’ll ever get the stink of this area off of me!

Xaquang Skyway

One would hope that visiting the Xaquang Skyway would smell a bit better than lower places such as Wajjun Bazaar or the Undercity, but it does not. The wind picks up the foul stench of garbage, sewage, and decay then brings it to the skyway. After exploring such places as the Maguuma Jungle and Shing Jea, having to explore Kaineng City makes me feel ill. However, the smell did not stop Xia H. D., Catfish J, Vengance H., Harlequin H., and Oops W. M. from helping me explore this area.

Riverside Assassination

Only after I had defeated Inquisitor Lashona, Bauer and Lovisa did Princess Salma inform me of a new plan to eliminate one of the remaining Mursaat leaders. Wiliem the Demeaning is at the Temple of the Unseen in Riverside Province and is preparing for an assault on the Shining Blade. Solorian and I met with Blade Operative Paulina in Sanctum Cay, where we boarded her small ship and arrived at the docks in Riverside Province.

Bounty Hunting: Week 2

When Princess Salma requested adventurers to slay enemies of her country, I had no idea that it would drag on for so long. It seems like with every White Mantle or Peacekeeper boss I slay, another one rises to the occasion and ends up on the bounty listing. These defeats are small blows to the White Mantle, but I am always assured that each foe I slay weakens the opposition.

Bounty Hunting: Inquisitor Lovisa

Finding out that Princess Salma had finally put a bounty on Inquisitor Lovisa’s head made me feel giddy. She is one of the most well known White Mantle inquisitors, and bringing her down will surely bring us closer to eliminating our opposition. Lovisa uses her “kind” personality to convince Krytans and especially their children that the White Mantle are on their side, and that the royalists worship the wrong gods. Solorian D. and Lani S. III were eager to help me on this quest.

Nahpui Quarter

A slum area located to the side of Nahpui Quarter became available for me to explore after I bested Hai Ji, Tahmu, Kuonghsang and Kaijun Don in the celestial part of Nahpui Quarter and became closer to the stars. Perhaps if I can help save Cantha from Shiro Tagachi’s wrath, I will come back and explore the celestial area in more depth. For now, Catfish J., Morganna D., Xia H.D. and Vengance H. will accompany me in exploring the less glamorous side of Nahpui Quarter.
